Financial Assistance

Financial assistance, for seniors 55 years of age or older, with emergency expenses are considered on a case by case basis. 


Most common needs provided for seniors include:
-Assistance with heating fuel costs

-Assistance with utility disconnect notices

-Medication copay assistance

-Minor home repair assistance

-Assistance with medical supplies/equipment

Financial help is available one time a year.

Incontinence Supplies

 

Supplies such as adult diapers and chux are available to the community.

Eligible participants must meet the following qualifications:

                                      - Onslow County resident

                                      - 55 years of age or older

Pick up days for supplies are in the 2nd week of each month. Amounts of supplies are limited. Prior to arrival call

Nutritional Supplies

A vanilla nutritional supplement is made available to those in the community in need.


Eligible participants must meet the following qualifications:
                                      - Onslow County resident 
                                      - 55
 years of age or older

If Friends of the Aging is unable to help, information for another nonprofit or agency will be provided. 

Call the mainline for Onslow County Senior Services at 910-455-2747 if you are in need of assistance. Senior Services staff will know how to forward your call in order to reach someone to help. The staff for Friends of the Aging work for Senior Services so if you hear it in the greeting, please know you have reached the right number.
